Riverdale

JOIN OUR TEAM

The Riverdale Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) includes Riverdale, Riverwood, and Dunthorpe neighborhoods in SW Portland. We welcome anyone interested in emergency preparedness. You need not have completed NET training. Our neighborhood needs you! You likely possess some knowledge, skill, and/or experience that will benefit you in an emergency. Most importantly, you need to prepare your family and loved ones. Then, you can help prepare your neighbors. Visit the Get Ready page of this website to learn how.

A Pacific NW earthquake is inevitable. Although the exact time our Cascadia Subduction Zone will produce a 9.0+ earthquake is not certain, scientists believe it’s overdue. So, we’re wise to prepare by training — learning and practicing steps to take — and closely coordinating with the police and fire services to help during other local emergencies like weather, fire, floods, landslides, and other such threats to life and property.

MEETINGS

Meetings for the Riverdale-Tryon Creek NET (which includes Arnold Creek, Collins View, South Burlingame, West Portland Park, Marshall Park, and anyone else who cares to attend) will be on Lewis & Clark College campus the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8pm in JR Howard Hall, Room 202. [View Map]

Enter campus at Gate 2 (by the stadium) and follow road to Lot E, about 1/4 mile. Evening parking is typically generous, and no fee is required. After parking in Lot E, walk the cobblestone road south past a vehicle gate, bend west, and continue for about 100 yards. JR Howard Hall will be on the right, directly across from Watzek Library. These buildings are colored orange on the map.
